OUR MISSION
Help homeowners make the right deck decision
ReDeck Virginia exists to do something simple — and rare — in the contractor world: tell the truth.
If your deck can be safely salvaged, we'll help you save it and upgrade it.
If your deck cannot be safely salvaged, we'll show you why and rebuild it right.
Either way, you'll understand the decision before you spend the money.

Meet David Austin
David Austin grew up in Christiansburg — the same community ReDeck Virginia serves today. After studying at Liberty University, he served in the Army Reserves as an aviation mechanic, where the job was simple: inspect the structure, find what's wrong, fix it right, and make sure people can trust it with their safety.
That mindset followed him into construction. David spent three years building alongside his father-in-law's company before starting ReDeck Virginia in 2020 with one focus: help homeowners make the right deck decision before they spend the money.
Five years and three crews later, the approach hasn't changed. We look at the structure first. We tell you what we find. And we help you choose the smartest path — whether that's a repair, a resurface, or a full rebuild.
FROM THE OWNER
Watch David explain the ReDeck difference
in his own words.
Most homeowners have been burned by a contractor who said all the right things on the phone.
It feels like you can't really know who you're trusting until it's too late — and by then your money's spent and they're gone.
David built ReDeck Virginia because he kept seeing what happens when homeowners choose the wrong guy. Watch him explain — in his own words — what we actually do differently, and why it matters for your home.

Every project starts with an honest structural assessment.
Plain English
No jargon, no runaround — just straight answers you can trust.

Respectful crews, clean sites, and zero surprises on your property.
COMMUNITY
Trusted by the Town of Blacksburg
In 2023, we got a call about a community playground structure in Blacksburg that had been rotting for years. Kids were still playing on it. Parents were worried. No one had the budget to fix it.
David and his crew donated their time, tore out the rotted wood, rebuilt the structure from the frame up, and made it safe again — no invoice, no publicity stunt.
That's who we are when no one's paying.
"The same safety standards and meticulous engineering we apply to major civic landmarks like Hand in Hand are brought to every backyard project we touch."
